Downloading Instructions

For viewing on your computer

 

(for slideshow and audio)

1. Make sure you have a current version of iTunes on your PC or Mac. If you need a free download, click here. If you added new software, restart your computer.


  1. 2.Click here to go to our “Mount Diablo Tours” downloading page.


  1. 3. Click twice on the folder for your chosen tour.


  1. 4. Choose the files you want and, by clicking twice again, download them to your computer. (Mp3 files are audio only. M4a files are audio with a slide show. M4v files are a movie format.) For some tours, you’ll be able to choose between high- and low-resolution versions. The hi-res files take longer to download, but look much better on a tablet. The low-res files are for mobile devices. Either can be used on a computer.


  1. 5. Click twice on a downloaded file to play it. Congrats!

Downloading Instructions

For music players that aren’t  iTunes compatible

The directions below will enable you to download the tours as mp3, m4a, or m4v files. Mp3 and m4v files are used in many types of players. M4a files may work only in iTunes.  


  1. 1.Click here to go to our “Mount Diablo Tours” downloading page.


  1. 2. Click twice on the folder for your chosen tour.


  1. 3. Download files to your computer. Different choices are available for different tours. Mp3 files are audio only. M4v (iMovie) and M4a (Garage Band) files have audio and pictures. Some tours that offer M4v files have low- and high-resolution versions to choose from. Low-resolution files are suitable for mobile phones. High-resolution files are for tablets and viewing at large size on a computer.  


  1. 4. Drag the downloaded files into Windows Media Player, or another player, or your music folder.


  1. 6.Sync your device to the music in the usual way. You’re ready to explore!
